Insignificance at The Photographers Gallery
On Wednesday last week I got a call from the Photographers Gallery asking if I would like to present my work at the Portfolio Review the next day, to Charlotte Schepke of Frith Street Gallery and a public audience.

Despite the short notice I leapt at the opportunity and below is a slideshow of the images I presented, part of my on-going project Insignificance, which is concerned with the landscape in which the epic of domestic drama unfolds.

I used this quote from Italo Calvino's Mr Palomar to help describe my diaristic approach to photography.

"It's only after you have come to know the surface of things" he concluded, "that you venture to seek what is underneath. But the surface is inexhaustible."

I was really happy with my presentation and it seemed to be well received. So thank-you to Karen McQuaid and Johanna Empson for asking me along.
